Choosing an online niche for your store can be one of the most frustrating aspect of getting started online; there are literally millions of potential niches to enter into.
But, figuring out which one will yield the best results is the hard part. When I started researching niches I remember feeling overwhelmed with all of the possible options out there, and then I read some advice that stated you should enter into a niche that you are passionate about or already have some interest in.
That is excellent advice as long as what you are interested in there are a lot of other people interested in and most importantly those people are interested in spending money on said interest (the more the better of course!.
In order to build a successful online store you must determine:
*** that there is high enough demand for what you want to offer***
If there isn’t enough demand then you will be wasting your time setting up an online store, as you will get few to no sales…
When determining if a niche is good to enter into I look for at least the following things:
- At least 1500- 2000 exact Google searches per month
- Active Blogs
- Active Facebook Pages
- Active Forums
- Active Email Newsletters
- Active Associations
- Other Ecommerce Sites (yes competion is a good thing!)
